2011 C. Harry Behney Lifetime Economic Development Achievement Award

Bob Miller is the 2011 recipient of the C. Harry Behney Lifetime Economic Development Achievement Award presented by GBIC. He was recognized for his ability to spearhead projects not only for R.E.M. but also donating his time and expertise while providing labor and materials at cost for many community projects and organizations.  Bob has also been willing to take risks in areas with traditionally high unemployment and economic stagnation such as Newport, Island Pond, Rutland and Bradford.  Through R.E.M., Bob works with tenants to meet their needs for quality space and fit-up at a reasonable cost so they can expand their businesses within Vermont rather than looking elsewhere.  Gardener's Supply, Fletcher Allen Health Care and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters are examples of valued tenants that Bob works with to provide expansion possibilities which aids in local job creation.
