Terminal to Serve Canada

REM Builds Largest Distribution Center in Northeast MEMF

New England Motor Freight has opened a new 72 door trucking terminal, 1087 Avenue D Extension, Williston, VT. This is the largest such facility in New England and features advanced computerized fiber optic tracing systems powered by the IBM AS/400 computer with state-of-the-art enhancements.

According to Lou Deforge, New England Motor Freight’s Terminal Manager, “This terminal was primarily designed as a distribution center to serve as a gateway to and from Canada, specifically to meet the import and export needs of the Eastern Provinces. We are now equipped to handle any and all trucking demands from our neighbors to the north.”

New England Motor Freight has been operating in Vermont since 1994 and this new facility will allow for future growth as well.

General contractor and developer for the 48,000 square foot facility was Bob Miller, President of REM Development Company, LLC, Williston, VT. Miller is pictured here (left of center) cutting the grand opening ribbon with Mike Shevell, Chairman of NEMF.
